Don’t check twelve forecasts. Check the Surfboard.

Seahound ranks where conditions line up, shows when to go, and keeps the risk beside the reward.

STATE, NOT JUST WEATHER

Forecasts see inputs. Seahound sees the break.

Offshore swell becomes a different ocean at every beach. Seahound carries that change all the way to the decision.

THE COAST REMEMBERS

The buoy is the beginning, not the answer.

Bottom shape, exposure, alignment, currents, and recent change decide what reaches shore. Every call keeps its sources and confidence attached.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Know what the call means.

Decision support, never a substitute for lifeguards or your judgment.

How do I join the Surfo iOS beta?

Open the beta invitation on your iPhone. Install Apple’s free TestFlight app if prompted, return to the invitation, and accept it to install Surfo. You can share feedback through TestFlight. The initial beta focuses on San Diego.

What makes Seahound different from a surf forecast?

A forecast describes expected weather and swell. Seahound considers each beach’s exposure, bathymetry, alignment, tide, wind, hazards, and recent coastal change to help you make a break-level decision.

Does a high rank or GO mean a beach is safe?

No. Surf quality and hazard are independent. Always observe from shore and follow lifeguard, beach closure, NWS, and emergency guidance.

Where does Seahound data come from?

Seahound combines NOAA and NWS observations and forecasts with nearshore transformation, tide data, beach characteristics, and model scoring. Source age and provenance remain visible in the app.

Which coastline does Seahound cover?

Seahound currently covers 16 San Diego County breaks, from San Onofre through La Jolla to Imperial Beach.
