Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Policy explains how Seahound handles information when you use the Service. The current Service does not offer user accounts, purchases, advertising profiles, or public posting.

2. Information handled

Technical requests: our hosting and infrastructure providers may process IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs, referral information, and security logs needed to deliver and protect the Service.

Reliability telemetry: Seahound records page path, web-performance measurements, error type, and a shortened technical error message. This helps identify failures and slow pages. Do not place personal information in URLs.

Local device storage: the installable app and service worker may cache application files and pages on your device for speed and resilience. Browser controls can remove this data.

3. What we do not intentionally collect

Seahound does not currently request an account, name, postal address, payment card, contacts, photos, or precise device location. The map does not currently request browser geolocation. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the Service.

4. How information is used

We use technical information to provide coast reports, secure and operate the Service, diagnose errors, measure performance, prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve accessibility and reliability. We do not use Service telemetry for targeted advertising.

5. Sharing and service providers

Information may be processed by providers that host, secure, map, monitor, or deliver the Service, including our deployment provider and Mapbox when its map is loaded. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices, including the Mapbox Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset transfer.

6. Sale, sharing, and advertising

Seahound does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under California privacy law. The Service does not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Retention and security

Technical logs and telemetry are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics, legal compliance, and service improvement, subject to hosting-provider settings. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

You can clear cached files through browser or device settings, disable the service worker by clearing site data, and limit browser-supplied information through privacy controls. Because there is no uniform browser “Do Not Track” standard, the Service does not respond differently to DNT signals. We honor legally applicable opt-out signals where required; because Seahound does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is currently no sale or advertising share to opt out of.

Depending on where you live and whether applicable thresholds are met, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information and to receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.

9. California notice

During the preceding 12 months, the categories we may have collected are internet or other electronic network activity and limited identifiers such as IP address. Sources are your browser and our service providers. The business purposes and recipient categories are described in Sections 4 and 5. We have not knowingly sold or shared these categories for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may submit applicable access, correction, or deletion requests using the contact below.

10. Children

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information should contact us.

11. International use

The Service is operated for a United States audience. If you access it elsewhere, information may be processed in the United States, where privacy protections may differ from those in your location.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy as the Service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be presented through the Service when reasonably appropriate.
